ENJOYING PLAYING BLUES PIANO

On this video Jazzy Derk plays an unexpected blues at Rene van Beeck’s pianoshop and concert place on the Westergas area in Amsterdam on a sunny spring day.

When Rene van Beeck sets an old grand piano outside his shop, unexpected jams start happening in the middle of the day with much appreciation of the audience enjoying a drink on one of the many terraces around this area.

When you look at the joy coming from the eyes from Jazzy Derk while playing a short snippet here one can imagine how much love for this style is embedded into his bluesy style of piano playing.

MS MENORCA MOMENTI

Special moments in life surely are when you are a pianist who happens to be on a yacht in the middle of the Mediterranean sea playing a grand piano while cruising the waters along side some of your best friends in life.

This moment was special in every form and way of experiencing playing the grand piano and needs no more explanation. Enjoy this moment out of normal daily life.

LIVE FROM THE MUPPET BOOTH II

Jazzy Derk and has built two professional sound studio’s since 2001. The first one was a collaboration with label chief Kees de Koning from Topnotch, who strongly believed in dutch hiphop and promoted artists like De Jeugd van TegenwoordigThe OppositesDef RhymzPostmen, and Extince).

After this building was sold and this studio had to be eliminated, Jazzy Derk built a new studio on a large loft space. The production booth of this studio was called ”the muppet booth” many times.

On this video Jazzy Derk is test-driving his keyboard skills around a funky beat he just discovered for one of the next live performances coming up.

STUDIO SHOWREEL

Jazzy Derk worked together in the mutual studios with partners such as producers and has created music for labels, companies and advertising campagnes and many compositions over the last years.

Jazzy Derk has been involved in advertising campagnes for brands such as KSwissNikeGaastraHeinekenCoca Cola and others. In the studio with his partners in music & video, sound branding for company’s, jingle’s and sounddesign for video productions can be produced and edited.

Now that the software in laptops has developed so intensively, the real use of a professional sound studio is in the acoustic surrounding to make a final mixdown and master your product/track, so many people work from home studio’s or even from location on their headphones nowadays.

On this video trailer a small part of the showreel can be seen on which Jazzy Derk has collaborated.

BARCLAY DANCE BLEND

In the beginning of showcasing the DJ Live concept by the end of the nineties, Barclay started a concept called the ”Barclay Dance Blend”. Well known DJ’s we’re being filmed with live artists who showed themselves alongside DJ’s by that time.

On this episode DJ Marcello played with Jazzy Derk together alongside Eddy Conard on percussion. The atmosphere and energy was great, which is what Jazzy Derk explains in the interview as well. Enjoy this video from the early days!
